Hotpoint Indesit lifter replacement
image one

Unplug from mains.

This is a lifter it beats the washing to wash the clothes.

If the lifters break off then check for any foreign bodies (bra wires , coins bits of clothes etc) as the lifters don`t fall out for nothing.
If you have a machine under the manufacturers warranty then you could get charged if you call them out.

Depending on what caused the problen( eg coins).

V1 has got a large hole in it(arrowed) ,when removed a new one must be fitted .
V2 has no signs on it and all the holes are the same size.
V3 has got 3 lines at the front (arrowed) and all the holes are the same size.
The other 2 are the same but a different size.
If a lifter has come out then get a torch and look in the hole for coins , bra wires , socks etc.The sharp edges can damage clothes.

With the V1 lifter the 2 lugs (arrowed)at the front clip into holes ,and to remove slide the lifter towards you but the lugs brake so a new lifter must be fitted .This is and old design so not many about.

The V2 and V3 lifters are similar the holes are all the same and V3 has got 3 lines on the front edge , to determine the front look for the circled part underneath.

To remove the V2 or V3 lifters put a long screwdriver (or similar tool) into the 3rd hole from the front or rear (some are the 3rd hole from the rear) and push the tab down and the lifter will slide forward or backwards and can be removed.Check the lifter for any damage and have a good look in the hole for and coins etc. When refiting bend the lug up slightly , then place the lifter in position and slide away from you until you hear the click.

These lifters are both the same except for size. image seven

If the lifter fell out then it should look like this and the tab can be pushed down.Have a good look round for any bra wires ,coins etc.
