Hotpoint Indesit knob fix/replacement

KNOB NOT SELECTING PROGRAM

This is what i did.

Unplug from mains.

There are a few types , the type i am doing needs to have the console removed to get to the knob . On some of the other models the knob just pulls off . If you need some advise then drop me an email.

Remove the 2 screws from the top.


Push the top from the front towards the rear of the machine and when it moves back lift it up.Remove the soap drawer by pulling the drawer out untill it stops then give it an extra pull to get it pass the stop then the drawer slides away from the machine. image two


image three Remove the two screws on top of the console panel and the two screws where the soap drawer fits.Remove the console pcb connector.


The console clips on using these clips.The console can be removed by sprising them gently open.

image five Remove the screws as shown in the picture.


The top pcb can now be removed. image six


image seven The pcb can be removed to gain access to the knob which is held in by clips ( arrowed ).


Tie a tie wrap around the knob shaft ,where it is broke, the knob will be ok aslong as it hasn`t gone too far.If a new knob is required then get a quote ( for a new knob ) off the main agent as they could be cheaper than local dealers. image eight


image nine If it`s this type of knob then prise off with a flat tool.


Here`s the result , the shaft is d shaped so the new knob will only fit on one way.It just clips on. image ten


image eleven This is the aqualtis , the knob just pulls off.
