I have been repairing domestic appliance for over 25 years and my knowledge has been recorded on this site .

The information in this site is free for anyone to read as you wish as long as you read and understand the smallprint.

Hotpoint split drum removal

image one This is how i did it.
I ALWAYS UNPLUG FROM THE MAINS.
Remove the rear access panel.

Make a note of where the wires go, remove the wires from the motor and heater,remove the jublee clip,or zipper from top of the sump and drop sump unclip pressure switch hose from left hand side of drum(as you look from the front) normaly two clips. image two

image three Remove the two screws from the top.

Push the top from the front towards the rear of the machine and when it moves back lift it up.Remove the soap drawer by pulling the drawer out and pressing the coloured lever in the cantre. image four

image five Remove the two screws on top of the console panel and the two screws where the soap drawer fits.Remove the console pcb connector and remove the console.

Remove the spring loaded wire from around the door seal and then unclip the door seal from around the front panel. image six

image seven Remove the two screws from the door lock and remove from front panel.

Remove the 4 screws from the front panel and then lift the panel up and pull towards you to remove front panel. image eight

image nine Remove the three bolts from the top weight and the three bolts from the bottom weight.Remove the weights.

Remove the zipper clip from the dispenser hose.If the dispenser is same as picture then fold it out of the way,if it`s a complete dispenser that goes all the way to the rear panel then remove water inlet hose unscrew the screws from rear of machine and remove.May have to make a note of wires. image ten

image eleven Remove the suspension pegs they have a clip that holds then in place,press the clip and pull the peg.

image thirteen Remove the two clips that hold the springs in and lift the springs out and lower the drum onto the floor.

Remove the belt and unscrew the two bolts on the motor.The motor drops to the floor so hold it when unscrewing the last bolt.Lock the pulley and unscrew the centre bolt to free the pulley wheel,wiggle it to remove it. image fourteen

image fifteen All done.Put back together in reverse order.
